Under the guidance of the Loudoun Campus Office of Continuing Education and Workforce Development, the College Community Theatre was formed in 2003 with a mission to entertain, enlighten, and educate the diverse community in which the campus resides by producing plays through the unique collaborative effort of community volunteers, NVCC faculty, staff, and students. The College Community Theater is guided by an Advisory Board made up of NVCC faculty, staff and members of the community. In addition the CCT is now a collaborative partnership with the Loudoun Campus Theater Department.

In the summer of 2008, CCT merged with 2nd Flight Productions Theater Company temporarily to see how well they work together. The new group is CCT with 2nd Flight Theatre Company.
